Help us build a new community in Islington

We are looking for a hard-working, passionate, and upbeat Community Manager to join our fantastic team at Town Square Spaces and help us to build a new community of freelancers, new company directors and aspiring entrepreneurs in starting-up, raising investment and growing their businesses.

We are opening a number of exciting, brand new affordable workspaces within the borough, which will house a community of startup businesses. Your role will be to ensure that this community is diverse, inclusive, accessible for all, supportive of each other, and connected to a wider network. You will be involved in outreach work, to generate opportunities for those in underrepresented and disadvantaged communities.

The responsibilities for the role are based on three key areas of focus:

  • Organising awesome events
  • Developing and maintaining partnerships
  • Recruiting and supporting members

You will be passionate about helping people to overcome all unnecessary barriers on their way to success with their enterprise, idea, or vocation. You will be the kind of person who leaves all cynicism at the door, and believes 100% in the vision and dedication of the person who is opening their heart and sharing their idea with you. You will be driven to connect them to the best people across the world who will help them to get to where they want to be faster, leaner, and in the most successful way.

You might not know it all yet, but you will have a thirst for knowledge and be open to learning all about how to support early-stage entrepreneurs to grow and develop, and the international trends across the global start-up world.

There is no traditional career path to this role, and no pre-requisite qualifications – you may have been involved in enterprise support, you may have trained in hospitality, you may be a lawyer who fancies a change, or you may have been a beekeeper since you were 14 – but attitude is key for us. If you are willing to think as an entrepreneur thinks, you are already at an advantage.

The salary for this post will be between £34,000 – £36,000 and the role is a full-time position.

Town Square is a B Corp, a Living Wage Employer, and a Committed to Equality accredited organisation: we are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community within both our team, and our membership community – we are creating a place where we can all be ourselves and succeed on merit. We welcome applications from everyone.

To apply, you will need to send us your CV, and a slide deck about yourself (be creative!) to recruitment@townsq.co.uk by no later than 5pm on Monday 20th September 2021.
