The First Ever North Wales Author Expo Comes To The Wrexham Enterprise Hub

Over two years we’ve been so proud to see members of The Wrexham Enterprise create brand new events for the benefit of the town & surrounding areas.

This time it’s content writer & storyteller Allan Longshadow of Wordworx Studios setting up a first of it’s kind event.

Book lovers and budding writers of all ages set to enjoy brand new book event in Wrexham The first ever North Wales Author Expo will see dozens of authors, storytellers and literary organisations take to the stage in Wrexham Enterprise Hub.

On Saturday 25th January, Wrexham Enterprise Hub in Queen’s Square, Wrexham is set to be transformed into a book lover’s paradise!

The inaugural North Wales Author Expo brings together dozens of authors from across the region, who will be presenting their work throughout the day with plenty of time for members of the public to meet new authors, discover new books get hold of signed copies and take part in a variety of activities.

For children and families, there will be a fantastic range of storytelling sessions taking place throughout the day, including a Welsh language storytelling session.

There will also be face painting, crafting and other attractions Aspiring and amateur writers are invited to attend the six expert-led workshops, which cover a range of topics including how to beat writer’s block, how to write children’s fiction, planning your book, getting into audio and how to edit and pitch your novel.

There will also be a wealth of other interactive events taking place throughout the day including a Poetry Takeaway, a community story and a well-being drop-in clinic, as well as a resident sketch artist, who will be capturing the day. Cakes, tea and coffee will also be available, with proceeds raising money for charity.

A number of local literary organisations will also be supporting the event including Wrexham Libraries, Wrexham Carnival of Words, the Welsh Books Council and Literature Wales.

Event organiser J.Allan Longshadow, Manager of Wrexham based publishing house wordworx,says – “With so much amazing literature coming out of North Wales and so many incredible writers and storytellers based in the region, I felt that we needed to put Wrexham on the literary map with a family-friendly showcase event that would connect authors with the public, as well as inspire and engage people of all ages to try their hand at writing.”

North Wales Author Expo 2020 takes place in Wrexham Enterprise Hub on Saturday 25th January 2020 from 9:00am – 17:30pm. General admission is free of charge, whilst the expert workshops cost just £3.50 each to attend or £10 for a day pass.
