Expo with a purpose sees Tesla join Bicester’s businesses for good

Oxfordshire businesses were given the chance to explore how they can make a positive impact while growing their enterprises at a landmark ‘Better Business Expo’, featuring a host of local green businesses and international leaders like Tesla.

The expo-style event, held in March supported those who already have strong ethics at the core of their enterprises by connecting them with like-minded peers and inspiring them with talks from local business leaders. Stalls were also available for enterprises to showcase their products or services.

The event was part of the global better business movement, B Corp, and was held at the UK’s first Passivhaus Plus workspace, and B Corp organisation, The Perch Eco Business Centre in Bicester.

Perch is operated by Town Square Spaces (TownSq) on behalf of Cherwell District Council, and is a growing network of like-minded hubs across England and Wales, as well as a certified B-Corp member.

Speaking before the event, its Community Manager, Lucy Wendon said: “We’re proud to be hosting the Bicester Better Business Expo at Perch this month, where attendees can connect with more than 50 other local businesses with a purpose, share ideas and inspiration, and hear from our two expert speakers.

“We’re so passionate about encouraging and supporting businesses that look to make a positive impact, whether it be socially, environmentally or economically. The expo will showcase local enterprises paving the way for purpose across Oxfordshire, followed by inspiring talks from B Leader Grant Hayward and employment lawyer, and Perch member, Roy Magara.

“We’ll also be launching our latest research paper, ‘What If There Were No Freelancers?’ which will explore the impact freelancers make on local business, and what can be done to support them.

“Lunch and refreshments are all provided, and there will be lots of opportunities for Oxfordshire’s ethical business leaders to get chatting, collaborate and spark a new idea or partnership!”
